Emily Nakagawa, Gymnastics Instructor Comes to Gymnastics Beat from: Fresno, CA School Attended: Senior at Central High School, East School Honors: 3.0 G.P.A. Major Accomplishments: Emily began gymnastics at the age of 5 at Madera Gymnastics. She loved the sport so much, she went the competitive route and reached Level 6. At age 13, the sport of Acro peaked her interest. Emily made the decision to join the team and become a ‘middle’ in Acro. A ‘middle ‘ is just that, below her is a base gymnast and is responsible for balancing the top gymnast. It was a good decision, just this last spring her trio-team placed first at State, Regional’s and second at Nationals. Emily currently takes Ballet and Hip Hop at California Arts Academy. Emily came to Gymnastics Beat in the Summer of 2006 as a volunteer. She enjoyed working with children so much, we hired her as a camp counselor. Goals: Next year she plans to attend California State University, Fresno and obtain her Degree in Special Education. Emily hopes to compete one more year in Acro at Gymnastics Beat. She would like to also start up an Acro program. Cool Facts: Emily is an active volunteer for St. Mary’s Queen of Apostle Church, Children’s Hospital, and Exceptional Parents Unlimited. She enjoys shopping, all genres of music, spending time with friends, and theater. Other Gymnastics Beat Employees:
