Helena Guzman, Director of Public Relations/Marketing Comes to Gymnastics Beat from: Fresno, CA School Attended: California State University, Fresno Highest Grade Completed: B.A. Mass Communications & Journalism, emphasis in Public Relations, Certificate in Marketing School Honors: Dean's List Fall 2000, Fall 2002 & Spring 2003 Certificate of Achievement - The Latino Commencement Celebration 2004. She was finalist for Outstanding Greek Woman in 2004. In 2004 she graduated Cum Laude at CSU, Fresno and is the former president of Sigma Alpha Zeta sorority. Qualifications: Professional USA Gymnastics member USA Gymnastics Safety Certified Coach Major Accomplishments: Helena is a 15-year gymnastics veteran, placing 3rd at State Championships in 1996 as a Level 9 gymnast and 11th at Regional Championships. In 1998, she represented San Joaquin Memorial High School at the Tri-Valley Championships and placed 1st All-Around. Her final competition was at the Level 10 State Championships in 2000. She thoroughly enjoys getting the word out about Gym Beat’s special events and programs including: Parents’ Night Out, Back Handspring & Tumbling Clinics, camps, field trips, Breakfast with Santa benefiting Toy’s for Tots, and Tyson Fitness Challenge benefiting Children’s Miracle Network. Goals: Helena would like to one day travel around the world and learn several languages. She would like to give back to the sport of gymnastics by spreading the word about its benefits. Other aspirations, advance as the Director of communications for USA Gymnastics. Cool Facts: Helena recently came across the exciting world of promotional modeling after placing second runner up for Miss ESPN in 2007. She since then has modeled for HiS Magazine, ESPN, high end luxury car dealerships, and sporting events. Helena is an avid traveler. Her favorite places to visit: Miami, Waikiki, Mexico, Idaho, Texas, New Mexico and Puerta Vallara. Let's also mention—she is a Pilates & Yoga fanatic. Other Gymnastics Beat Employees:
