Leah Kindig, Gymnastics Instructor Comes to Gymnastics Beat from: Santa Cruz School Attended: Soquel High School Highest Grade Completed: High School Diploma School Honors: Principal’s honor roll; maintained above 3.3 G.P.A in high school. Voted Best all around cheerleader Certification: Safety Certified, USA Gymnastics Member Major Accomplishments: Leah has 11 years of gymnastics experience. She placed first all around as a Level 5 at The Davis Invitational. As an optional level 7 gymnast she competed at the USAIGC nationals in Polk County, Florida where she qualified for finals and scored well above 9.0 and placed 12th in the county. In 2000, as level 8 she won first place at her home gym in Santa Cruz. In 2002 she placed 3rd on bars and 6th all around at her final regional competition. Leah was a competitive cheerleader for her high school and was voted MVP 2 years in a row. She competed one season in an individual routine and took 1st place that came with a $500 scholarship. After high school, Leah became the head coach for the Santa Cruz competitive gymnastics team. Goals: Leah wants to obtain her real estate license and graduate with an AA in Business. She hopes with her talent and experience to resurrect the competitive gymnastics program at Cool Facts: Leah has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys being out on her parent’s boat.
