Background:
Sam was introduced to gymnastics in high school at the age of 15. Competed all 3 years winning all-around titles, while qualifying for state competition every year. He began coaching at the age of 18 in Seattle for recreation centers and private schools. He moved to LA and coached at the Hollywood YMCA, where many actors also worked out! Sam became the Traveling Manager of the popular Discovery Zone franchises, opening up seven centers throughout Southern California and San Diego. Upon moving to Fresno, Sam became the Executive Director for Rotary Storyland and Playland for 8 years helping raise over 1/2 million dollars to save these Historical Landmarks of Fresno. He also volunteered to coach at Madera Gymnastics for 3 years. In 2003, Gymnastics Beat was born with just 7 employees. Now celebrating 10 years in the valley, we have outgrown ourselves with 3 full-time managers and 25 coaches!

Claudia Getchell
Director of Financing

Background:
Claudia came to the United States 20+ years ago and married her husband, David. She has a daughter: Stephanie, a recent graduate from Bullard High School and a student at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Claudia came to Gymnastics Beat in 2005 as a volunteer to help with special events and office administration. In 2007, Claudia was promoted to Office Manager "the boss." She founded CVC All-Stars, which ran for 6 very successful seasons and brought home 8 National Championships! She still holds the title as "The Boss" as she is now the Director of and POWER Fresno.

Background:
Anika is a native of Fresno and an Alumni of Central High School. She cheered all 4 years at Central and was in the ASB and on Student Council. After graduating from Central she began coaching cheerleading at Rio Vista Middle School; bringing home 4 National Championships! Anika left for Seattle, WA while a student at Fresno State to fulfill a college internship requirement in the University of Washington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. After her internship was over Anika was hired as the Assistant of Olympic sports operation for UW. Go Huskies! Shortly after, extenuating circumstances moved her home to Fresno. Later on, Anika moved to Kilgore, TX to start at the bottom again; as an operations intern for the East Texas Pumpjacks, a member of the Texas Collegiate League (baseball). She quickly moved up to become the Assistant General Manager of the organization. As an intern in Texas, she hired an intern named Chris. Anika liked him so much that she kept him! They are now married with 2 kids. Anika used to bring her Rio Vista teams to GymBeat, she has made it full circle back to the gym.
